Hello!
I’m Indigo (she/her), a researcher, writer, and heritage programme designer based in Edinburgh. I recently launched a toolkit for heritage professionals who are looking for ways to find queer stories in the everyday objects in their collections!
I’ve started A Queer Was Here to bring together the projects I’m involved in and the research I’m pursuing.
My work focuses on uncovering and amplifying underrepresented narratives in museum collections, art galleries, and heritage spaces. From castles to convict barracks, I’ve worked across the heritage sector in Australia and Scotland for over eight years. I specialise in research and public programmes that create space for marginalised stories in traditional heritage places. This platform explores storytelling through heritage, art, and culture—blending historical research, creative practice, and community engagement.
